Finally I’ve find the time to put my hands on the plugins, for what’s more than a needed upgrade. First one is Upload+, the easiest one, just to understand some news inside WordPress 2.7 for plugins. You can download it manually, or just use the WordPress plugin installer/updater, which is perfect.
Next will be Category Page, because its popularity requires it. It needs some fixes and some little enhancements, but it can be done. Other plugins will follow. Gengo is another game.
This plugin is really complex, and the transition from Jamie - author of 9/10th of the code - to me was not really smooth. Gengo now ships with obsolete and deprecated code here and there, and the bugfix won’t even scratch the surface of its biggest problems, like the WordPress internal cache system and the URL system.
My time is also more than limited, even if I’m trying to have a small fixed amount of time to work on it. If you like you can join the discussion on the gengo-hackers mailing list!
